Sayreville, NJ. (Top40 Charts/ MPS Promotions) - On Friday, June 8th, Monmouth County based country rock band "Michael Patrick & The Suburban Hillbillies" will open the show for legendary country music star "Gary Allan" at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ.

Keeping Country Alive in New Jersey

It is with great pleasure The Starland Ballroom welcomes a country act of this stature to a smaller venue in NJ. It is both a rare and refreshing occurrence when a recognized country music artist makes New Jersey a stop on their tour.

For years, most parts of NJ have been without a major country radio station in the metropolitan area states Michael Patrick. There are lots of fans of the music in NJ and The Starland Ballroom wants to do its part to keep it alive.

Jersey's own "Michael Patrick & The Suburban Hillbillies" have been on a mission of sorts to bring country rock music back to the state and offer fans a place to call home at their local area shows. They describe their music as "Country Rock with Roots." Carefully blending elements of traditional country, 50's style rockabilly, folk & roots rock with a commercial edge, this group has devised a style that appeals to folks of all ages. The band has been "out and about" in support of their latest independent CD offering entitled "Roots & Branches."

No strangers to The Starland Ballroom, Michael Patrick & his band have shared the Sayreville, NJ stage twice already with "The Marshall Tucker Band." In addition, they have logged some 100 plus performances in the tristate area over the last few years that have included Casinos, Night Clubs, Outdoor Concerts and private events.

MCA Nashville Recording artist "Gary Allan" is a critically acclaimed artist that has sold over 5 million records on his own terms. He has released back to back to back Platinum albums and landed back to back number one singles at country radio. The sexy swagger of his live show tempered with a rugged yet warm voice has earned him legions of loyal fans.

In mass they flock to concert halls across the country where Allan is on a streak, breaking attendance records from California over to Kentucky and down to Texas. In 2006 alone, Allan played live for over 1 million people. All the while, Allan has remained true to his musical identity and his one-of-a-kind style. He is quick to speak his mind and unafraid to take risks that would make most artists shutter.

The Starland Ballroom is honored to be part of this exciting concert and hope NJ country music fans will come out and show their support so we can keep the tradition alive and well in Jersey claims Michael Patrick.
