Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ RCA) - RCA recording artist, Jake Owen, had an unexpected moment last week during a karaoke night at a local Nashville bar. Owen was sitting down enjoying the karaoke performances when a young man got up and sang Jake's current single 'Startin' With Me'. At first Jake thought it was a joke but realized that the gentleman didn't know he was in the bar and that the song really meant something to him and he was singing it with all his heart. After the performance Owen introduced himself to the young man who had just returned from service in Iraq and his wife had just left him. When he heard 'Startin' With Me' on the radio he immediately connected with the song and the message and was overwhelmed by meeting Owen. 'It was the coolest experience,' says Owen. 'I never expected that a song I wrote would impact others as much as 'Startin' With Me' has, or that a song I wrote would be included on a karaoke list and performed.' Jake Owen burst onto the country music scene with his Top 15 hit, 'Yee Haw,' from his debut album Startin' With Me. Over the last year, Owen not only made his national TV debut on ABC's Good Morning America, but he has also toured with Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. On May 10 he will kick off the 2007 Alan Jackson/Brooks & Dunn Tour in Virginia Beach . Owen will open the tour which runs through October. His current single 'Startin' With Me' sits at No 17 on the R&R/BDS Country Chart and No 16 on the Mediabase Country Chart.
