Martin will headline this weekend's Give Kids The World Second Annual Benefit Concert to be held on Sunday, May 6, 2007 in Thomasville, GA.
The concert is being held for the benefit of Give Kids The World Village (GKTW), a Kissimmee, Florida-based children's charity. GKTW is a 70-acre non-profit resort that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. With the help of many generous individuals such as Daniel Lee and a variety of corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation, to ensure that no child is ever refused their one special wish. Over the last 21 years, the organization has welcomed more than 75,000 families from all 50 states and over 50 countries.
In his second consecutive year, Daniel Lee will offer his time and talents to perform at this satellite concert event. The Give Kids The World Second Annual Benefit Concert will be held at the Old Central Middle School on Pinetree Blvd. in Thomasville. He will actively participate in the corresponding celebrity golf tournament the following day with one hundred percent of monies collected from both events being donated to GKTW.
Later this month, Daniel Lee will appear at a second GKTW celebrity function to be held May 23 and 24 in Orlando and in August, he has committed to perform at the GKTW Concert Series; a three-day musical event to be held at various locations in California (Sacrament/Fresno/Riverside).
'I truly enjoy the opportunity to give something back,' said Martin. 'But, what's even more important is to be able to offer these children the opportunity to make a wish come true and live their dream, because that's what life is all about.'
April celebrated the introduction of two new projects close to Daniel Lee. ChinMusic Records introduced his sophomore CD entitled ON MY WAY TO YOU [produced by Jan Stolpe] and in addition to his second national music release, The Sportsman Channel launched Backstage & Backroads with Daniel Lee Martin, a true-to-lifestyle television show where celebrities come out of the spotlight and come back to nature. Thirteen Backstage & Backroads episodes are set to air on The Sportsman Channel in the 2007 season.
