NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Lyric Street Records) - Popular finalist on the fifth season of American Idol, Bucky Covington is releasing his self-titled debut album April 17th on Lyric Street Records. The album is produced by Mark Miller and Dale Oliver. It features eleven songs including the current hit single, "A Different World," and Covington's first co-write, "Carolina Blue."

To celebrate the release of his debut album, Bucky will be returning to his home state of North Carolina on April 20 for an instore signing event in Fayetteville. Immediately following a private concert for WKML listeners, Bucky will greet fans and friends at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 4601 Ramsey Street to sign copies of his self-titled debut CD.

"A Different World," is already inside the top 25 at Billboard. The video for "A Different World" is in heavy rotation on CMT and GAC and debuted at No 1 on CMT's fan-voted Pure Country.

Kicking off April 7th in Nashville, Bucky embarks on series of concert dates that include shows with Sawyer Brown and Kenny Rogers. On April 18th, he'll be making a return visit to American Idol to coincide with country music week.

Before getting his break on mega-hit American Idol, Bucky and his identical twin brother, Rocky, worked in their father's auto-body shop painting cars and playing local gigs on the weekends. With musical influences including Elvis, Kid Rock, the Jeff Healey band, and "every country artist from the 80's on forward," Bucky describes his style of music as "country with as much rock in it as I can get away with." A Nashville transplant, Bucky's hometown is Rockingham, NC.

Highlights:
* In December of 2006, Bucky joined GAC's Country Music Christmas tour where he performed alongside Deana Carter, Julie Roberts, Blue County and Steve Azar and performed for sold-out crowds on a 60-date American Idols Live tour.
* Bucky made his Grand Ole Opry debut on March 9 and made his televised debut on April 7.
* He is confirmed to teach a master class at Idol Camp, the first official American Idol performing arts summer camp for kids ages 12-15.
* Bucky's TV appearances include The Tonight Show, Ellen, Fox and Friends, Regis and Kelly, Larry King Live, CMT and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
