"'Reach for the Stars' tells an amazing story of dreams, courage, and determination," says Skyla. "The mother sends a powerful message to her daughter by encouraging her to believe in herself and have faith - to reach for her dreams and goals in life. The idea for this song came from the relationship I have with my mother. She has instilled in me self-confidence, encouragement, determination, and to work hard for what you want in life. This song talks about how these traits are passed down from generation to generation. I hope, someday when I am married and have children, that I pass down these traits to my children.'

Skyla Spencer's music is a cross between pop-country and Christian country. "Growing up I listened to different genres, but I always came back to country. There was just something about it," Skyla explains.
