(Top40 Charts/ www.steveazar.com) - On Monday, April 9, Mississippi Delta native Steve Azar will join friends, Hootie & The Blowfish for their 2007 Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament. The annual charity event takes place this year at the Dye Club at Barefoot Resort & Golf in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Widely considered one of the most popular Celebrity Pro-Ams in the country, the event attracts thousands of people who enjoy the friendly competition that takes place between the band and their celebrity and PGA professional friends. In 2006, the event generated $450,000 and became the tournament's first sell-out in the past twelve years. More than 6,000 fans came to see their favorite celebrities, athletes and musicians compete. All proceeds benefit the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation and the Hootie & The Blowfish Foundation, which supports the educational needs of children in South Carolina. Azar is expected to release his new CD, Indianola on his own Dang Records imprint later this spring and recently wrapped a six-month stint opening for the legendary, Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band on their enormously popular "Face The Promise' Tour.
