Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Big Machine Records) - One year ago upon the release of Live-Wherever You Are, Jack Ingram turned the spotlight on one of the tracks, 'You Never Knocked Me Down'. Inspired by a critic who had counted him out of ever making it in the mainstream, the song touched on the perseverance of an individual undeterred by challenges. Fourteen months later, with a string of radio hits, and a brand new album, This Is It will be in stores on this Tuesday. Jack recollects on the definition of 'making it': 'Defining success is as hard as finding happiness. I think it's a moving target. I knew that I was a successful musician when I wrote my first song, played my first show, made my first CD, etc... But I have never stopped reaching for more. I heard Bob Dylan say that a successful artist is one who is always in a state of becoming, always reaching for that which is just outside his grasp. That's what I want to do. I want to sell as many records as possible and have my music enjoyed by as many people as possible. Then I will know that I have 'made it'.' The kid from Houston is well on his way; this week Ingram will be in Los Angeles taping an installment of AOL Sessions, joining the company of superstars such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney, Neil Diamond, Snoop Dogg, Tim McGraw, G-Unit, John Mayer and Tom Petty who have been asked to perform on AOL's signature series.
