Nashville, TN. (Universal Records South) - Propelled by the continued strength at radio of his current single, 'I'll Wait For You,' sales for Joe Nichols' album, III, are up 44% this week, making a dramatic move up the sales chart. The album jumped 44 positions on the Billboard Top 200 album chart (No 134 to No 90) and cracked the Top 15 on the Billboard Country Album Chart (moving to No 14). Digital downloads for the single are also up 39%. 'This is by far largest jump in chart position on both album charts this week,' noted Van Fletcher, Sr. Vice President of Sales and Operations for Universal Records South, 'an impressive move for a record that has been out for nearly a year and a half. We see weekly that this song is connecting with people.' Universal Records South Sr. Vice President/General Manager Fletcher Foster added, 'Joe Nichols is one of the most gifted singers in our format, and this song is reinforcing that. The mass impressions at radio, in addition to the major visibility the video is receiving at CMT and GAC, is obviously impacting consumers at a retail level.' Nichols is in the studio working on the follow-up to III with co-producers Mark Wright and Brent Rowan. His fourth release for Universal Records South will street later this year.
