LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Universal
Music Enterprises) - After exploding onto the scene with "Stay (I Missed You)" from the Gen-X movie classic "Reality Bites,"
Lisa Loeb - one of the most recognizable musical artists of the last decade - releases her first digital-only 6-song bundle. Due to great demand from Loeb's fans, "Cherries" (Geffen/UMe) will be released March 6th, 2007.
Featuring 6 selections, "Cherries" includes formerly unavailable bonus tracks from overseas releases of Loeb's previous albums, as well as a track especially recorded as a birthday present for her father.
Beginning with the track "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries," Loeb says: "My father instilled a love of the standards in me, and so for his birthday, I recorded a special version of one of his favorite food songs, 'Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries,' with esteemed jazz pianist Larry Goldings and producer Chad Fischer."
Additional tracks include the full band version of "Sandalwood," "Look Me In the Eye" (left off of Loeb's "Cake and Pie" album), "Birds," "Eno Ambient No 5," inspired by Brian Eno, and a live version of "Dance With The Angels" which is a perennial fan favorite from Loeb's live shows.
Loeb's latest album, "The Very Best Of Lisa Loeb" (Geffen/UMe) was released January 24, 2006 and included "Single Me Out," the theme song to her hit reality series "No 1 Single."
