LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Dead Rock West Official Website/ www.deadrockwest.com) - What do Dead Rock West have in common with Grammy Award winners The Dixie Chicks? Both bands share the same creative mind behind the music, famed mixer Richard Dodd. While Dodd shared in the 'Best Album of the Year' award with the Dixie Chicks for "Taking the Long Way" at Sunday night's Grammy ceremonies, his next praise will surely come from his involvement in mixing the Dead Rock West album "Honey and Salt" to be released on February 20, 2007 from Populuxe Records. Dodd was called in to give the album its final touches after the band finished recording the old fashioned way, using a 2' tape and 24 tracks; what you hear is truly what you get on "Honey and Salt." 'Richard Dodd is best known for the way in which he mixes vocals - giving them more punch,' says DRW lead guitarist and vocalist Frank Lee Drennen. 'We never questioned his process in the studio which was a first for me. He also brought out a killer feel with the guitars and drums, so it was easy to let him do what he does best – mixing great rock music. He has such a rich history of working with great artists and I'm damned proud that we are one of those artists that had the pleasure to work with him.' "Honey and Salt" is a seamless mix of rock and country where perfectly pitched harmonies tug at your heart strings, grainy guitar solos serenade your soul, and blends of pop get your toe tapping. Their sound is eclectic, like a high powered X and Wilco all blended into one. Songs from "Honey and Salt" have been featured on ABC's hit series 'Men in Trees,' been heavily rotated on the XM satellite radio Station X-Country, and received a stellar review from the February 2007 issue of Amplifier Magazine. Be sure to tune into 'Men in Trees' this Thursday, February 15th, as Dead Rock West is again featured on the show with their song 'Going Home.'
