NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Records) - The multi-platinum Grammy-winning recording artist John Legend will hit the road in April for an avidly-awaited North American concert tour (see full itinerary following). The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae will open the concerts.

Legend, who picked up the Best New Artist and two other Grammys in February 2006, is currently in the running in three categories in the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, to be announced Sunday, February 11, 2007 (8pm et/pt - CBS).

John's special guest artist, Corinne Bailey Rae, is currently up for three Grammys (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist). Named the UK's top breakthrough act of 2006, the critically-heralded English singer- songwriter saw her eponymous debut album enter the UK charts at No 1 in February 2006. The RIAA platinum-certified Corinne Bailey Rae has sold more than two million copies worldwide.

While on tour, Legend will perform songs from his critically-acclaimed platinum-selling albums, Get Lifted and Once Again, as well as in-concert surprises.

Released on October 24, 2006, John's second collection, Once Again, entered the Billboard Top 200 at No 3, selling more than 231,000 copies in its first week at retail. The album, which peaked at No 1 on the R&B Album Sales chart, quickly achieved RIAA platinum certification and earned John two Grammy nominations: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance (for "Save Room") and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance (for "Heaven"). John Legend picked up a third Grammy nomination for 2006, in the Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals category (for "Family Affair," a track from Different Strokes by Different Folks, a Sly & the Family Stone tribute album).

In 2004, John Legend - then known primarily as an in-demand all-star studio session man - stepped into the solo spotlight as a premier singer- songwriter-pianist-performer in his own right with his debut album Get Lifted, which peaked at No 4 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart and became a No 1 Top R&B/Hip-Hop album in January 2005. Driven in part by the hit singles "Ordinary People" and "Used To Love U," Get Lifted was a critical and commercial triumph, earning John an astounding eight Grammy nominations - he won Best New Artist, Best Male R&B Vocal Performance ("Ordinary People") and Best R&B album - and selling more than three million copies worldwide.
