Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Jodi Jett Official Website) - Jodi Jett To Release Follow Up To Debut Album Later This Year

Alt-country performer and songwriter Jodi Jett will be releasing her second record later this year. Jett has already recorded two songs that she plans to release as singles this Spring.

The record will be co-produced and mixed by Phil Palazzolo (Neko Case, The New Pornographers, Radio 4) and mastered by Tom Hutten for Bionic Mastering.

"I'm not taking myself so seriously with this album, says Jett. I've been listening to a lot of Magnetic Fields and Tom Waits, so I expect those influences to be noticeable on the record. Magnetic Fields especially inspire lots of obnoxious silliness with songs like the first single Pocket Rocket.

As with her debut album Revelations, Jett will also independently release her second record. Further specifics will be announced at a later date.

"My goal with this album is to take my time getting each song to a place where I love it. I plan to work a lot more with the other musicians collaboratively versus being the sole songwriter. Staying stuck in my own head for too long can be exasperating," she continues. "I also want to remain as original as I was on my first record."

Jodi grew up in the Midwest as a Pentecostal, allowing her little exposure to rock and roll. In fact, the only musical performances Jodi participated in during her young life involved leading her church in song. Since self-releasing her debut album Revelations in 2006, Jett has been compared to artists such as PJ Harvey, Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star and Patti Smith. She was even hailed as the "female Lou Reed" by five-time Grammy-winning engineer/producer Elliot Scheiner (Beck, Fleetwood Mac, Flaming Lips) after he discovered her in 2004. Such comparisons meant little to Jodi at that time as she had never heard of any of them.

Fast forward to 2007: To date, Jodi Jett has successfully self- released her debut album Revelations via Love Rock Records with significant Triple-A and non-commercial radio play, toured the Midwest and garnered positive reviews from tastemakers like Blogcritics and Culture Bully.
