Nashville , TN. (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Records) - Grammy-nominated Columbia Records fireball singer/songwriter Miranda Lambert is set to release her new cd Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on May 1, 2007. The album follows her near-platinum and critically-acclaimed debut Kerosene and was again produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke.

Miranda wrote or co-write eight of the eleven songs on the new disc, and she called on some pretty high-profile writers to round out the album. Patty Griffin and Gillian Welch contributed their works to the collection, and the closing song 'Easy From Now On' was written by Carlene Carter and Susanna Clark and recorded by Emmylou Harris on her Quarter Moon In A Ten Cent Town album in 1978.

'You can take each song on this album and compare it to the first record, and you can see that it's an upgrade,' says Lambert. 'It shows two years of growth. I also let people in a lot a lot more than I did on the last record - so I'm a little scared, but I'm proud.'

Kerosene, released in 2005, debuted as the No 1 Country Record in the nation making the Texas singer/songwriter only the sixth country artist in the history of SoundScan to enter the country albums chart at No 1 on their very first release. It went on to earn Lambert nominations for the CMA's Horizon Award and the ACM's Top New Female Vocalist Award as well as a Grammy nomination for 'Best Female Country Vocal Performance' for 'Kerosene.'

Kerosene was named one of the 10 best albums of the year by such publications as The New York Times, Rolling Stone Magazine, San Antonio Express News, Tennessean, Fort Worth Star Telegram, Chattanooga Times Free Press, CMT.com, St. Petersburg Times, Memphis Flyer, Arkansas Democrat, Boston Globe, iTunes and Blender Magazine (which also ran a 4-page photo essay on her last year.)

Since Kerosene's release, Miranda's life has been a non-stop whirlwind of touring and appearances. In addition to her own headline dates, she has opened for the likes of Keith Urban, George Strait and Dierks Bentley just to name a few. She heads out with Toby Keith in two weeks. She has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show, The CMA Awards, ACM Awards, CMT Music Video Awards and more.
