Few new country artists have ever come to the table with the combination of talent, passion and experience that Palmer exemplifies. The talent has been evident since she was a little girl, standing on a milk crate as she sang with teenagers and adults in her church choir. Later, she became a finalist on the CBS-telecast "Star Search," and was featured in CMT's documentary "Waiting In The Wings," an award-winning documentary about African-Americans in country music. As a songwriter, Palmer has written with many of Nashville's finest writers and penned the song "Faith," which appeared in the 2004 Lee Daniels/Miramax film "The Woodsman. " She also wrote "Hold On To Me," which superstar Faith Hill chose for an album project but agreed to release it so the newcomer could include it on her own project. Palmer will perform new material from her upcoming debut CD, scheduled for release this summer by 1720 Entertainment, featuring numerous self-penned tunes by the accomplished songwriter. Presently, Yahoo! Music LAUNCHcast Radio is premiering three advance singles from the CD, including "Country Girl," "Is There Anybody Out There," and a remake of the Patsy Cline classic, "Leavin' On Your Mind." Yahoo! listeners have the opportunity to rate each song and in turn, help with the selection of Palmer's upcoming debut single. Fans can also post their comments on www.myspace.com/rissipalmer.
