NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Aspirion Records) - Aspirion Records Group, Inc. is proud to announce its latest CD release from one of country music's most crystalline voices—Kathie Baillie.
Unveiling her first solo project, Aspirion Records is pleased to introduce Kathie Baillie's LOVE'S FUNNY THAT WAY.
Kathie made her first appearance in the country music scene singing background on projects for Moe Bandy, Dan Seals, Lynn Anderson, Randy Travis and more. In the mid-80s, Kathie Baillie trademarked her sound as the lead singer of the RCA recording group Baillie and the Boys. Known for their dynamic harmonies and Kathie's signature vocals, the trio released six albums to score a total of 10 Top 10 country hits and was recognized with awards and nominations from the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and the TNN/Music City News Awards. In the mid-90's, Kathie co-hosted the nationally televised Music City News Awards Show and The Nashville Network's Yesteryear Show.
Today, celebrating her seventh recording project and this, her first solo endeavor, LOVE'S FUNNY THAT WAY is true musical portraiture of life—life and life experiences, the ups and downs, love affairs, love-lost, courage, strength, struggles and celebrations.
A consummate singer/songwriter and entertainer, Kathie made the recording of her solo project a kindred affair inviting family and friends to join in the creation. 'When I recorded this CD, I really didn't try to 'make it fit' into any specific genre,' Baillie introduced. 'I just wanted to make music that is a reflection of me and who I am. This CD is a true depiction of me, my life and the people that complete it.'
Baillie co-wrote three of the ten-song collection that also features cuts by Amy Grant, Vince Gill and Paulette Carlson and special vocal guest appearances by Paulette Carlson, Vince Gill and daughter, Alyssa Bonagura.
'My husband, Michael, produced the CD,' added Baillie. 'We have worked together for so long [with Baillie and the Boys] that everything just fell into place. We just create the music we feel in our souls and let it 'happen' on its own,' she said.
The lead single by the same name (written by Tina Arena), originally from the movie soundtrack 'One Fine Day,' was initially released to secondary radio in late September 2006 and has already struck an emotional chord to generate attention from country radio, its listeners, her peers and the critics.
'Kathie remains one of our most powerful female vocalists.
Her comeback single is pop-country pile driver with a big, fat, soaring, chiming melody that shows off her still-mighty interpretive chops.'
