Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Show Dog Nashville) - Arguably the most successful musical performer and entertainer of this century, Toby Keith enjoyed another milestone year in country music as the most-played recording artist on country radio. According to Nielsen BDS monitored airplay data, Keith's music saw more spins than any other country performer and ranked third among artists of all genres. Not surprising, considering such visibilty, Keith is nominated in the all-genre Favorite Male Vocalist category for tomorrow night's (1/9) People's Choice Awards telecast on CBS. The nomination caps an incredible multi-media year for Keith, whose platinum-plus White Trash With Money has generated a number of smash hits including "Get Drunk And Be Somebody," "A Little Too Late" and "Crash Here Tonight." Keith's videos have been in heavy rotation throughout the year on cable networks CMT and GAC, and Keith was the only artist to have four songs nominated for GAC's Top 50 videos of 2006. The year also saw Toby Keith in his feature film debut Broken Bridges, which opened No. 1 in a number of major markets and earned Keith critical acclaim for his big screen charisma. The movie drew more than 10 million viewers during its television premiere weekend on CMT in mid December. And the "Soundtrack From The Original Motion Picture Broken Bridges" was the highest debut for a country soundtrack in Soundscan history and includes the Oscar-contending title track that features label-mate Haun as well as her solo hit single, "Broken." Broken Bridges bows as a DVD at retail outlets nationwide tomorrow (1/9). As one of music's hardest-working musicians, Keith isn't content to rest on last year's laurels. His Ford Truck-sponsored Hookin' Up & Hangin' Out Tour will continue its standing-room-only run in 2007, beginning January 25th in Albany, NY. And he's working on his next studio album, due in the spring from his own Show Dog Nashville label.
