Rascal Flatts Win First People's Choice Awards

NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Lyric Street) - Rascal Flatts were in Los Angeles last night to attend their first People 's Choice Awards show where they were honored 2 times with awards for Favorite Song from a Movie and Favorite Song Remake both for 'Life Is A Highway.'

'The fans ultimately have the loudest voices and tonight we heard them loud and clear,' said Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. 'We love you and thank you so much for supporting us!'

Rascal Flatts closed out 2006 as the best selling artist of the year in all genres of music. They were named both the No 1 Billboard Top 200 Artist of the Year as well as the No 1 Country Artist of the Year by the 2006 year-end Billboard magazine, the second consecutive year Billboard has claimed Rascal Flatts as Country Artist of the Year. In addition, they were also named: No 1 Top Country Album Artist, No 1 Top Country Duo or Group and No 1 Top 200 Billboard Artist Duo or Group across all genres of music by Billboard magazine.

2006 was also a banner award-winning year as Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney were voted CMA, ACM, CMT and AMA Vocal Group of the Year.
