Topanga, CA (Top40 Charts/ www.johnandrewparks.com) - The U.S.-China AIDS Foundation (USCAF) and Nanjing Pacific TV & Media Co. report the successful conclusion of their second joint 2006 HIV/AIDS media program in China with the production and broadcast of their CCTV special. John Andrew Parks was the headline act for the CCTV special program, which reached over 150 million households. Mr. Parks wrote 'My Windows World' specifically for the program, which tells the emotionally touching story of an ill child looking out his bedroom window, longing to be with the other children he sees playing outside. Focusing on the issue of discrimination against those with HIV/AIDS and, in particular, on the plight and care of AIDS orphans in China, the program featured stories of children and the on-stage appearances of several AIDS orphans. In addition to John Andrew Parks, the program included the on-stage performances of some of China's leading music and film stars as well as Canadian performing artist Justine Stewart, who performed 'Save Your Dreams.' A DVD of the program is planned for release by the Chinese Ministry of Health and CCTV for free distribution to HIV/AIDS and other public health-related non-governmental organizations (NGO's) throughout China. John Andrew Parks was born in Dallas, Texas and moved to Los Angeles in his late teens. He signed his first recording contract with Capitol Records, which released his first self-titled album, produced by John Andrew, John Boylan and Jerry Crutchfield, to much critical acclaim. It included his original full-length version of 'Planet Texas', still a staple at 'Texas Rebel Radio'. Planet Texas was recorded later as a single by Kenny Rogers for which Mr. Parks was awarded a gold record. 'Planet Texas' coined a term that was borrowed by the highly successful 'Planet Hollywood' restaurant chain. Mr. Parks recently released 'Eagles Gone Country' on St. Clair Entertainment, and has a new CD, 'StarGazer' coming out in early 2007.
