LOS ANGELES, CA. (Capitol Records) - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band will extend their enormously successful Face The Promise tour, with the new dates keeping the band on the road through February 2007. Highlights include four sold-out dates at Detroit's Palace of Auburn Hills in late December and a sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden on January 25th. The tour has captivated critics and fans alike with a total attendance of 293,711 for the first 21 shows. "Seger hasn't been on the road in 10 years, and his absence has aroused something deeper than just reverence or nostalgia for his music," observed the Kansas City Star. "[The arena] was packed and loud and raucous, like a playoff sporting event - a sign that a lot of people have figured out that real rock 'n' roll has less to do with chronological age than it does with quality and durability." "Seger lives up to his rock-legend status ... still true to the core values that made his name a touchstone in heartland rock," said the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel while the St. Louis Post-Dispatch hailed the show as "a cathartic return for one of rock's greatest voices" and made note of the multigenerational crowd - "aging boomers alongside thirtysomethings next to the young and pierced."

Seger's latest album, Face The Promise, was just certified Platinum by the RIAA this week, marking the 11th Platinum album of his extraordinary career. The tour, which features a mixture of new songs and Seger's numerous hits, is clearly igniting additional interest in the new album, with sales spiking in each market after Seger & The Silver Bullet Band play.

" ... the singer has returned with a solid album, 'Face the Promise,' and the grit still clinging to his voice," said the Chicago Tribune. "But he never really went away. His hits collections remain perennial best sellers, and his songs have become part of the fabric of at least two generations. From "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" to "Roll Me Away," with stops in between for "Night Moves," "Hollywood Nights," "Old Time Rock and Roll" and "Katmandu," Seger roared the blue-collar blues ... a two-hour-plus concert devoted to durable songs about misfits and vagabonds."

Seger, of course, has been renowned for his live shows for decades - a point underscored by the fact that his first commercial breakthrough was not a studio album but 1976's Live Bullet, a double live album that has sold over five million copies.
