SAN ANTONIO, TX (Top40 Charts/ Army All-American Bowl) - SportsLink and the U.S. Army are proud to announce Lonestar- one of America's most patriotic singing groups, as the performing celebrity band of the 2007 U.S. Army All-American Bowl January 6th. The contemporary country group will perform a 45-minute concert following the Bowl at the Alamodome to honor the brave men and women of the United States Army. Bowl fans will have opportunity to enjoy Lonestar's 'Army All-American Tribute to the Troops Concert' first hand, while Soldiers, fellow service men and women and their families in 177 countries will later enjoy the concert primetime provided by American Forces
Radio and Television Service (AFRTS).
Lonestar is committed to honoring troops for their service to our Nation, and believe that there is a powerful link between country music and America 's Soldier heroes. 'Soldiers gravitate toward county music because it is about life. Messages in our music resonate with military members because they are real, they tell a story,' said Dean Sams, founder of the group. 'We pay tribute to our Soldiers during every performance because we appreciate our military folks and we want to do our little part to remind everyone of their sacrifice.'
The band is also ready to witness the physical and mental strength of high school student athletes as they demonstrate teamwork exhibited by Soldiers everyday. 'To me football is such a great sport because of the whole team concept. I am excited to be a part of a game that recognizes that team ethic by uniting Soldiers and young players. It is going to be over the top cool,' said Sams.
