NASHVILLE, TN (Lyric Street) - The best selling act of 2006, Rascal Flatts, received a Grammy nomination today as Best Country Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal for their No 1 country and No 1 Hot AC hit 'What Hurts The Most.' The group participated in the 49th Annual Grammy press conference in Los Angeles at the Music Box this morning with Mary J. Blige, James Blunt, Chris Brown, Amy Lee, Ludacris, Corinne Bailey Rae, Justin Timberlake and KT Tunstall. Rascal Flatts were the only representatives from country music. 'What Hurts The Most,' written by Steve Robson and Jeffrey Steele, was also nominated for Best Country Song. Award to writers.

'What a wonderful way to cap off an incredible year. We are so honored,' said lead singer Gary LeVox.

Rascal Flatts spent most of their morning before the press conference began speaking with Justin Timberlake and Mary J. Blige in the artist green room and after the nominations were read, they conducted a live interview on CNN with Blige.

The Grammy nomination comes on the heels of their most successful career year to date as their record sales for 2006 out sell all other artists; their 2006 'Me And My Gang' concert tour played to over one millions fans and their recent double and simultaneous No 1's with 'What Hurts The Most' at Hot AC, which had already hit No 1 at country radio, and 'My Wish' on the country singles chart.
