2006 Is Banner Year For Alan Jackson With Two No 1 Albums

Nashville, TN. (Arista Nashville) - Alan Jackson's LIKE RED ON A ROSE, produced by Alison Krauss, was an unexpected gem and one of the year's most acclaimed albums. It debuted at No 1 and No 3 on the Billboard Country and Billboard Top 200 album charts, respectively. The second single from the album, 'A Woman's Love,' will impact radio on January 8.

'My favorite tracks were his favorite tracks,' said Krauss, 'and he was willing to try things too. It was a dream to get to work with that voice. It was just amazing, an incredible opportunity.'

Jackson remarked, 'I think this album has a lot to offer. It's a record that you can put on with your friend or your loved one and pour a glass of wine and just have an easy listening.'

2006 has been a year of incredible successes for Jackson . February brought the release of PRECIOUS MEMORIES, an album of timeless hymns which originally was conceived and recorded as a gift for his mother. However, its appeal reached far greater lengths. PRECIOUS MEMORIES, which has already been certified Platinum, became the first gospel recording in history to debut at No 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and garnered a CMA nomination for Album of the Year.

Additionally, Jackson also became the first country artist to debut an album of all-gospel material at No 1 on the Top Christian Albums and Top Christian & Gospel Albums charts, and the first artist to ever top all three charts at once. The album continues to be a top seller, consistently scanning tens of thousands of copies every week.

The collection also inspired the enormously popular GAC-televised Precious Memories concert event, an hour-long special taped live at the Ryman Auditorium, while the release of LIKE RED ON A ROSE found Jackson making high-profile appearances on Today, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and ABC's top-rated Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

The new single from LIKE RED ON A ROSE will be 'A Woman's Love,' and will impact radio on January 8th, 2007. It will be the first single released by Arista Nashville in the New Year.
