Sydney, AU. (EMI MUSIC Australia) -- After much fan-anticipation, US rock band 30 SECONDS TO MARS delivered their first Australian exclusive single THE KILL (BURY ME) this week which smashed into the Top 30 on the Motorola ARIA chart. Winners of the recent MTV Video Music Awards for Best Video, 30 SECONDS TO MARS scored the Channel [v] "Ripe Clip Of The Week" gong for their stunning video. It was directed by famous front man Jared Leto's alter ego "Bartholemew Cubbins" and was based on his concept for a “Rock" version of Stanley Kubrick's classic movie "The Shining". The clip has held Channel [v]'s #1 Most Requested Video position over the last fortnight in front of other key video releases such as My Chemical Romance & Panic @ The Disco (sorry boys!).

Since the escalation of the band's ever-growing manic fan base (over 300,000 MySpace friends & 4 million profile views), their sophomore album A BEAUTIFUL LIE has already sold nearly 1 million albums in the US and is officially being released in Australia this week. The album features the hit single THE KILL (BURY ME), ATTACK, FROM YESTERDAY and seven other chapters of destruction, change, rebirth and renewal plus two un-released BONUS TRACKS. The album is produced by Josh Abraham who also produced Velvet Underground.

Over in the US, THE KILL (BURY ME) peaked #3 on the Modern Rock Radio chart, Top 15 on the US Mainstream Rock and remains Top 15 at Alternative Radio after nearly 10 months of airplay reaching #2 most request on LA's prestigious KROQ station. Locally, the single has been blazing across the Australian radio airwaves with major support via the National NOVA network and SAFM. Digitally, 30 SECONDS TO MARS were Top 10 sellers on I-Tunes for both single & album releases for the month of October.

30 SECONDS TO MARS have spent most of 2006 on the tour bus, playing sold out shows across the US plus festival main stage slots on Bamboozle, Lollapalooza & Warped Tour. At present, the band is on the road for the MTV2 Tour. However, there's no rest for the wicked and successful. In early January 2007, 30 SECONDS TO MARS are set to become one of the main draw cards for the US Taste Of Chaos Tour which continues up until April. There have also been whispers recently about the band heading our way in 2007 .. stay tuned!
