Sugarland's Enjoy The Ride Debuts With Impressive First-Week Sales

NASHVILLE, TN (Mercury Records) -- Multi-platinum Sugarland's sophomore album Enjoy The Ride debuted last week and garnered an impressive first week sales of more than 210K landing them #2 on Billboard's Top Current Country Albums chart and #4 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart.

"It's a good thing we named the record Enjoy The Ride because this has been a wild one," exclaimed lead singer Jennifer Nettles.

"It is gratifying to all of us at UMG to see Sugarland's sophomore release be so incredibly well received," said Luke Lewis, Co-Chairman UMG-Nashville. "This achievement is a testimony to their amazing talent as songwriters and performers."

Garnering the 7th ranked best album debut for a country artist this year, Sugarland is placed with the likes of Rascal Flatts, Dixie Chicks, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and George Strait.

Their current single "Want To" is at #4 on both the R&R/Billboard and Media Base Charts, and continues to rise due to radio support and national television performances on Good Morning America, MARTHA and The Country Music Association awards.
