Nashville, TN (Broken Bow Records) -
Craig Morgan will release his new Broken Bow Records CD,
Little Bit Of Life, on October 31, 2006. The new album is Morgan's first new music since his breakthrough success last year, when he notched back-to-back No 1 hits from 2005's My Kind of Livin'. 'That's What I Love About Sunday,' country music's most played song of 2005, spent 5 weeks in the No 1 position atop the country chart and has been played on the radio more than 200,000 times, and its follow up, 'Redneck Yacht Club,' also hit No 1, reaching a weekly radio audience of over 35 million listeners.
And that audience is glad he's back. Just last week Music Row magazine said that 'Little Bit of Life,' the new album's title track and lead single, 'makes commonplace, everyday life sound like a joyous celebration. Which is a great thing. The guy's on a roll, and this deserves massive airplay.' The single is at No 21* this week and is rapidly climbing the country radio charts.
Little Bit Of Life, his fourth studio album, for the first time pairs Morgan and his long-time co-producer Phil O'Donnell with award-winning producer Keith Stegall, best known for his work with Alan Jackson, Terri Clark and Randy Travis. The CD contains some of Morgan's most personal work to date, including the autobiographical and anthemic 'I Am,' and 'My Kind of Woman,' a song he wrote for his wife Karen. Other noteworthy tracks include 'Tough,' a reflective, moving ode to the strength of a special woman; the vivid character depiction of 'The Ballad of Mr. Jenkins,' and the hilarious and universally relatable 'International Harvester.'
Morgan, himself a US Army veteran, will be spending the days surrounding the album's release with some of the people who matter the most to him, US Service members and their families. On release week he will take time out from CMA Week activities in Nashville to travel to Ft. Hood, Texas to support Jack Daniel's Toast To The Troops Operation USO care package 'stuffing party.' He will help volunteers prepare care packages to ship to troops overseas and end the visit with a free private concert for all of the volunteers and Ft. Hood soldiers. Morgan regularly clears dates on his tour schedule to participate in USO events, and just took part in another Jack Daniel's event at Ft. Gillem, Georgia earlier this month.
