
Nashville, TN (Universal Records South) - Raw energy and intensity that can blow the doors off of any roadhouse in the Southwest - Cross Canadian Ragweed fans can relive the experience of the band's high-octane live show with the release of BACK TO TULSA: LIVE AND LOUD AT CAIN'S BALLROOM live CD and concert DVD, set for release on October 31 on Universal Records South.
Recorded over two nights of sold-out shows this summer at the legendary Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, the music is straight from the sound board, with no over dubs and no vocal tweaking. The 24-track double disc set contains several fan-picked favorites, including 'Alabama,' and the hard-hitting 'Wanna Rock & Roll,' as well as seven never before nationally released cuts, among them Robert Earl Keen's 'Lonely Feeling,' Also included are duets with fellow red dirt artists Stoney LaRue and Wade Bowen.
The decision of where to record BACK TO TULSA: LIVE AND LOUD AT CAIN'S BALLROOM was an easy one. 'We knew it had to be Cain's,' says Canada. 'It's the oldest, most legendary dancehall in Oklahoma. Bob Wills got his start there, and it's where we cut our teeth. It just feels like home.'
BACK TO TULSA follows the release of back to back Top 10 studio albums (2005's SOUL GRAVY - No 5, and 2006's GARAGE -No 6) on Universal Records South, and is an answer to fans' demands for a new showcase of Ragweed's live show, considered by many to be the band at its finest.
The DVD, sold separately, includes a photo gallery, interview segments with the band, behind the scenes footage from the annual cruise (Cruising with Ragweed), Wolf Dance and the Cain's Ballroom.
