
NASHVILLE, TN. (Red Parlor Records) - Red Parlor Records announces the signing and upcoming release of "One Tough Town," the new album by legendary recording artist/songwriter
David Olney. Mr. Olney was introduced to Red Parlor by Eddie Gomez, VP of Bug Music. Bug
Music administers Mr. Olney's publishing catalog, which includes songs recorded by Emmylou Harris,
Linda Ronstadt, Del McCoury, Lonnie Brooks and others.
Scheduled for release in May 2007, "One Tough Town" was recorded in Nashville and produced by Jack Irwin (Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart; The Legendary Shack Shakers). "David Olney is an important American artist with a strong following," says Red Parlor Records President Steven Goff. "'One Tough Town' is a fantastic record and a milestone in his prestigious career."
Giving a nod to his intelligent, radiant compositions, USA Today wrote, "[David Olney] can bring rugged passion to even the smartest lyric."
In addition to the new label relationship, Mr. Olney recently signed with June Lehman of the Circle Agency for booking in North America. Circle Agency is a full-service booking agency representing artists in Americana, Roots, Singer-Songwriter and Southern Rock genres. He continues to be booked overseas by Joanna Serraris at MuseMix and is managed by Mary Sack of Mary Sack Management in Nashville, TN.
Red Parlor Records was founded earlier this year by Mr. Goff and Jerry Krenach (Head of A&R). The label's first release was "Reiter In" - the last recording by the late Chris Whitley. Red Parlor is nationally distributed by Nile Rodgers' Sumthing Distribution and digitally through IODA.
