NASHVILLE, TN. (Lucie Diamond Official Website) - British country star Lucie Diamond - who beat Dolly Parton,
Faith Hill and
Gretchen Wilson to win Female Vocalist of the Year in the European country music awards - returns to the USA on Monday (2nd Oct) for the whole of October.
She has also been invited to make a 2nd visit to the world famous Bluebird Cafe, to sing her own songs on 8th October - along with many more prestigious gigs in Music City that month, after her triumphant Nashville debut in May.
Lucie's management Kudos Music UK, have arranged a private "by invitation only" industry showcase for music biz VIPs, on 17th October at 12th & Porter, following many requests by record labels and Music Row executives after her sizzling Nashville debut in May. RSVPs so far indicate the full-house signs will be going up at the prestigious venue.
Platinum-selling country star Jason Aldean has loaned Lucie his full band for the showcase set, and a film crew are capturing the event for a Podcast in the near future. Photographs taken by Nashville's top music snapper will be posted onto Lucie's Myspace site less than 24 hours after the event.
Lucie is also writing with some of the biggest hit makers in the USA - inc. several Grammy nominees and winners - she's in big demand for media interviews, and has agreed to appear on the star-studded bill of top writers for a benefit evening in aid of the local women's refuge. Lucie also has a 2 day trip to Milwaukee for further media promotion, and celebrates her birthday at an Aretha Franklin concert as a guest.
The British award winner, who swept the boards in the annual European CMA country music awards with 3 major wins, will appear at the Bluebird Cafe, The Commodore, French Quarter (streamed live on the net), The Blue Bar (with Jaime Fox), writer's night at Caffeine, Lyrix (formerly G'Dang) and she will be the Featured Artist at Cocktails on one of two visits in October.
On 6th October she has an evening called "Lucie Diamond & Friends" at trendy Christopher Pizza Company, Demonbreun close to Music Row. Lucie will be accompanied by her two guitarists, Eddie Heinzelman and Kent Burnside for 2 sets, also joined by several of her musical friends and co-writers. Hit writer Joie Scott is confirmed (she wrote Shoes for Shania Twain's track on the Desperate Housewives soundtrack CD) and so too is acclaimed "outlaw" Billy Don Burns, coming in from Arkansas to write with Lucie that day.
The night before, Lucie - described by organisers as "this remarkable British star"- is part of a star-studded event tipped by the local media as "pick of the week" at industry haunt Douglas Corner. A fund raiser as part of domestic violence month, to raise money for the Mary Parrish centre, Lucie will be joined by Joie Scott; Grammy-nominee James Slater who penned the smash hit "In My Daughter's Eyes" for Martina McBride. And fellow Grammy nominee Michael Peterson, who has had several number ones as a recording artist for Warner Reprise. Lucie will be accompanied by guitarist Erik Halbig who plays with Sugarland, Sara Evans and many other big stars.
There will be more shows added. All gigs are posted on her main website: www.luciediamond.com and on www.myspace.com/luciediamond
Lucie will appear on the Rockin' Ran show on URRADIO on Sat 26th October, from 12noon to 3pm Nashville time, from their studios in Mount Juliet outside of Nashville. She will sing live accompanied by Kent Burnside on acoustic guitar, chat with DJ Ran and answer listener's questions. She may well have a surprise guest or two with her, too! That broadcast can be heard on the net @ www.urradio.com
Her latest single "Don't Even Think About It" was released on 1st Sept. and is getting heavy airplay around the world, picked as "record of the week/month" by many DJs on country shows and mainstream, daytime radio. It has gone to number 2 in the Hotdisc British country chart and has stayed there for 2 weeks. Lucie set a record for 10 consecutive weeks at number one with a previous single, and her last 2 singles were both number one in the European country chart (ECMA).
In July she won more awards than any other artist in the annual ECMA European country music awards, and was the ONLY British artist to win an award. Lucie won 3 of her 4 nominations - Dolly Parton beat her to the 4th! Lucie beat Dolly, Gretchen Wilson and Faith Hill for "Female Vocalist of the Year." She also won "European Artist of the Year" and "ECMA Future Star" Award.
"The reaction I got in Nashville in May was overwhelming. It is so cool I am going back to Nashville and the USA so soon after that, and mainly because people keep asking my management to bring me back!"
"The shows and venues, the writers I am working with, and the media stuff has all increased in quality and number since my last trip, which is very gratifying. I cannot wait to get on stage at my showcase on 17th with the band, and show people what I can do. It is going to be a fantastic trip," said Lucie, as she prepared to fly to the US until early November.
In December, Lucie has several shows, media promotion and a major charity appearance in South Africa.
