Nashville, TN (Recording Industry Association of America/ Trace Adkins Fans Website) - Trace Adkins' head is spinning with all the heavy metal he's trying to find room for lately. The multi- Platinum star just got the news today that he has earned his first Double-Platinum (2 millions units sold) album of his career with Songs About Me. This certification comes on the heels of the news he received just last week that his newest album Dangerous Man was certified Gold (500,000 copies sold) in the very same week that his Greatest Hits Collection; Volume 1 was certified Platinum® by the Recording Industry Association of America (1 million copies sold). "What a great thing to have happen during my 10th year in this business," says Adkins. "I'm particularly proud of this accomplishment and extremely grateful to everyone on the team whose efforts and hard work have made this possible." Songs About Me has remained one of Country's Top 35 albums for 72 consecutive weeks. It was a mainstay on the Top 10 country albums chart for the first full year after its release. Propelled by the cross-genre phenomena 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,' Songs About Me had 15 consecutive weeks of increased sales after the release of the smash single. The sales expanded beyond actual albums with extraordinary Ring tunes sales and iTunes downloads.
