NASHVILLE, TN. (DualTone Records) - Dualtone recording artists The Greencards received a nod of recognition from the industry and fans late last week as they were named the New Emerging Artists at the Fifth Annual Americana Music Awards in Nashville. Held at the Ryman Auditorium, the awards recognize musical achievement in the Americana genre, and featured performances this year by artists including Elvis Costello, Rosanne Cash, Vince Gill, and others. The award caps off a great year for the talented band, who Rolling Stone.com described as "an imported trio creating some of the finest Americana around." They have been busy touring the U.S. non-stop the past few months and are gearing up for the release of their upcoming project on Dualtone, "Viridian," due out in February 2007. "We can still remember what it felt like the first time we entered the Americana Radio Chart, and what a buzz it was to be in the same company as some of our favorite artists," said The Greencards' Carol Young. "So now, in 2006, to receive the 'New/Emerging Artist of The Year' is an incredible thrill and a great achievement for the band." "Congrats to The Greencards, we're so proud of Carol, Kym, and Eamon. They are one of the hardest working bands out there," comments Scott Robinson, Co- President, Dualtone Music Group.
