Nashville, TN (Raul Malo Official Website/ Sanctuary Records) - Raul Malo will be featured on NPR's national daily news magazine All Things Considered tomorrow, September 22nd. The show is broadcast nationwide on all 848 of NPR's affiliate stations. ATC airs in New York on WNYC from 4-6:30 p.m. ET, in Los Angeles on KCRW from 3-6:45 p.m. PT, and in Nashville on WPLN from 3-6 p.m. CT. For other markets, check www.npr.org. Malo's 8-minute feature segment can also be heard online.

Malo sat down with All Things Considered host Melissa Bloch to talk about his new solo CD You're Only Lonely, released this summer on Sanctuary Records. The album has been hailed in the press nationwide as 'the most romantic record of the year,' and has rapidly become one of the year's most critically acclaimed releases.

The interview focuses on Malo's interpretations of the iconic songs that comprise the album, from the genesis of the idea of an award-winning songwriter recording songs made famous by others, to the intricacies of working with uber-producer Peter Asher. Malo offers a candid look inside the project, from how the songs were selected, to what he learned from Asher, to the positives and negatives of touring and recording as a solo artist. The segment will also feature music from the CD.

There has been no shortage of critical praise for You're Only Lonely. People magazine awarded the record 4 stars and selected it as a Critic's Choice, and USA Today raved, 'If your standards of interpretive singing come from Rod Stewart and American Idol, listen to Malo — and marvel.' The LA Times enthused, 'It's hard to think of any other singer with the chutzpah, or the vocal cords, to tackle [Harry] Nilsson's haunting 'Remember,' which takes a singer into the melodic stratosphere,' and the Washington Post recommended that, 'Anyone in search of sophisticated make-out music should snag Malo's album, posthaste: You're Only Lonely is a perfect disc to break out (along with a bottle of red wine) once the kids are tucked into bed and fast asleep.'

Malo is currently on tour in support of the record. For up to date tour information, please visit www.raulmalo.com.
