New York, NY (Montgomery Gentry Official Website) - Multi-platinum country duo, Montgomery Gentry proudly receive a nomination in the Country/Favorite Band Duo or Group Category for this years' American Music Awards. In 2000, Eddie & Troy were honored with the AMA award for Best New Artist, proving a great milestone and harbinger of even better things to come.

Eddie recalls, "the AMA was the first award we ever won. It's a great honor to be a contender again."

Montgomery Gentry also learned that they have plenty more to be proud of, as their greatest hits package, "Something To Be Proud Of: The Best of 1999 - 2005" reaches certified gold status. The collection reprises eleven Top 20 hits, including nine Top 5s, from their first four CD releases "Tattoos & Scars," "You Do Your Thing," "My Town," and "Carrying On"- as well as "Didn't I," from the "We Were Soldiers" Soundtrack.

Troy adds, "We can't thank the fans enough for allowing us to do what we love most. We have been very blessed."

Montgomery Gentry, the CMA Award winning duo, are now eager to release their new album, "Some People Change," on October 24 and are preparing to embark on a tour, presented by GAC TV, with fellow heavy hitters including Phil Vassar, Little Big Town & The Wreckers on October 12.
