Nashville, TN (Big Machine Records) - Big Machine Records launched
September 1, 2005 with a passionate team of industry professionals headed by President/CEO Scott Borchetta. The young label has already notched a Number One country hit, Jack Ingram's 'Wherever You Are,' and landed five singles in the Top 25 on the ultra-competitive country radio charts.
The upstart has also scored a prestigious nomination for 'Country Label of the Year' in music-industry trade publication Radio and Records. In previous years, Borchetta has led numerous promotion teams that have won the coveted award.
In addition to Jack Ingram's success with his first chart-topper, the follow-up single, 'Love You,' has jumped into the Top 20 with incredible momentum. The high-energy entertainer has toured with superstars Sheryl Crow and Brooks & Dunn in the past few months and will join Gary Allan for shows later this year.
Songwriter and vocal powerhouse Danielle Peck has joined an elite group of new female artists in country music by scoring a Top 15 single with 'Findin' a Good Man.' Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and Miranda Lambert are the only other new females to achieve that goal in the last three years. Danielle's self-penned debut single, 'I Don't,' was also a hit at country radio and her self-titled debut album debuted at No 3 on the Billboard Top New Artist Album chart.
Sixteen-year-old songwriter/singer/guitarist Taylor Swift is also adding to the list of Big Machine accomplishments as the October 24 release of her self-titled debut album approaches. The first single, 'Tim McGraw,' from the collection which features all songs written or-co-written by Taylor , is in the country Top 5 at iTunes. She has had the No 1 country video at Yahoo!, MSN, and Rhapsody as well as the No 1 internet radio single for multiple weeks. The video is also in the Top 10 on GAC's fan-voted Top 20 Country Countdown and her MySpace site is nearing 1,000,000 streams of 'Tim McGraw.'
"It is extremely gratifying to look at our first year and see that we ' ve accomplished many goals,' said Borchetta. 'I'm blessed with an incredibly focused and driven staff that not only meets, but exceeds, their tasks at hand. I couldn ' t be more proud. But now, back to work!"
