Nashville, Tennessee (Curb Records) - Curb Records' duo, Bomshel, has teamed up with McCormick Distilling in a national promotion naming them the 'Wicked Women of Tequila Rose.' This fall, Bomshel will make their way across the country on their 'Wicked Women' tour, entertaining fans with their high-energy brand of country as they raise awareness for the Karmanos Cancer
Institute via various promotional activities sponsored by Tequila Rose, the original Strawberry flavored liqueur. The duo, comprised of singer Buffy
Lawson and fiddle player Kristy O, was chosen for their fiery spirit and empowering messages towards women.
The deal was brokered by Marco Promotions' Club Connection, a division of AristoMedia Group in Nashville. The promotion is managed by Mike Breazeale representing Budco, a Detroit area communications company.
The Bomshel philosophy states, 'A true Bomshel is a woman who ain't afraid to go to the grocery store with no make-up, who can hold her own around any man she'll ever meet, and who realizes the true importance of chocolate and mashed potatoes!'
As the cornerstone of the promotion, Tequila Rose has provided the duo with a custom-made motorcycle called the 'Tequila Rose Wicked Women Chopper' that will appear on tour with them in select cities on their fall/winter national 'Wicked Women' tour. At the end of the tour in December, Bomshel will auction off the chopper on eBay with all funds raised going to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, Michigan. The bike, which was designed specifically for Tequila Rose by Christine Vaughn of Wicked Women Choppers, is custom built to fit the safety and comfort of today's women riders. It is an exact duplicate of the chopper now being offered in the Tequila Rose Wicked Women Chopper Sweepstakes (for details, visit https://www.tequilarose.com/sweeps/).
McCormick Distilling and Bomshel are also in the process of creating the 'Bomshel Drop,' a shooter cocktail featuring Tequila Rose Original Strawberry liqueur and McCormick Vanilla Vodka. The drink will be available for sampling at most stops on the tour. This promotion is an extension of McCormick's successful roll out of Tequila Rose's two new flavors: Java and Cocoa.
In 2004, powerhouse singer Buffy Lawson teamed up with fiddler Kristy O to create the fearless duo known as Bomshel. Their aggressive sound combines country, rock and funk, with an unparalleled energy powered by the enthusiasm of their country fans. With rowdy favorites such as, 'Bomshel Stomp,' 'It Was an Absolutely Finger Lickin' Grits & Chicken Country Music Love Song' and 'Don't Water Down My Whiskey,' Bomshel is a female force to be reckoned with. Inspired by women who aren't afraid to take risks in life, their songs also show their sensitive side as they address the pressures modern women face in balancing work, family and relationships. Their self-titled debut album on Curb Records will be available in early 2007. For more information, visit www.bomshel.com or www.curbrecords.com.
