Nashville, TN (Universal Records South) - When Joe Nichols played the Kentucky State Fair this past weekend, he invited CMT Insider to come along for the ride. In a segment that premiers August 26th, the Universal Records South recording artist shows the viewers that when it comes to fairs, boys really do just want to have fun. Nichols, who is an avid baseball fan, took his turn in the games section at knocking over the bottles with a baseball and playing darts, and walked away with a prize. Later he tried his skill at making funnel cakes. Deciding he'd rather not eat something he made himself, an excited fan gladly took the somewhat misshapen funnel cake off the star's hands. 'Well, I'm glad someone actually wanted to buy that funnel cake,' Nichols laughed. 'I'm not the best cook in the world, and I make it a rule to never eat anything I have actually had a hand in making. Maybe she'll just keep it as a souvenir and not really eat it!' Nichols also rode his favorite ride from his days as a Jr. High student in Rogers, Arkansas—the tilt a whirl. 'This was a great date ride for a kid in Jr. High,' Nichols said. 'You could wait for that thing to start spinning, and slide you right on over there next to the girl—and in the end, blame the ride. That is, of course, unless you had eaten too many funnel cakes and you ended up throwing up on her. That you could also blame on the ride!' CMT Insider will premier at 1:30 ET on August 26th, and repeat throughout the weekend.
