Nashville, TN (www.aristomedia.com) - Country duo Pirates of the Mississippi continue to climb the Music Row Top 40 Chart with their latest single "Kickin' Up Dust." The single moved up three more spots this week to number 33. Last week it took an eight spot jump to number 36. This is the group's second Music Row Top 40 of 2006.

The Pirates of the Mississippi, led by Rich Alves and Bill McCorvey, are also beginning to tour in support of their forthcoming album Heaven and a Dixie Night, which is set for release August 29 on Evergreen Records.

After being signed to Capitol Records in 1989, the Pirates scored their first hit with Hank Williams' "Honky Tonk Blues." Over the next few years, the Pirates recorded five top-40 singles including their signature hit "Feed Jake" and were named "New Vocal Group or Duo of the Year" at the ACM Awards in 1990.

Together and individually, Alves and McCorvey have had their songs recorded by the likes of Montgomery Gentry, Alabama, Rascal Flatts, Jamie O'Neal and Clay Walker. For more information and other related news about the Pirates of the Mississippi, go to www.thepiratesofthemississippi.com.
