NEW YORK (Sam Moore Fans Website) - National media are hailing a new album from legendary R&B crooner Sam " Soul Man" Moore, citing his impressive list of contributors. And while the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Eric Clapton turned in technologically enabled duets, according to a recent Reuters wire report, a handful of the performances were recorded face to face. One of those was between Moore and acclaimed vocalist, songwriter and entertainer Travis Tritt. Tritt and Moore recorded the duet "Riding Thumb" for Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational in stores Aug. 29. Not only did they sing the song together in the studio, they debuted the version live during a performance at the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin this past March. Moore's album was produced by American Idol judge and noted music maker Randy Jackson, who was so impressed with Tritt's work during the sessions, he signed on to co-produce with Tritt on his next album. That release, due from Category 5 in 2007, will tap Tritt's varied and acclaimed talents as a singer, musician and recording artist. The two-time Grammy winner has sold 25 million albums and performed for standing-room-only crowds coast to coast. Tritt has blurred the lines between rock, country, soul and blues to the extent that he's been produced by rock legend Don Was, recorded with George Jones and Patti LaBelle, and developed a close musical kinship with the late Ray Charles.
