 NASHVILLE, TN (Rounder Records) - The Grascals were honored today with three International Bluegrass Music Awards nominations, earning their first nods for Entertainer of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year. They are also nominated in the Album of the Year category, for their participation in Celebration of Life: Musicians Against Childhood Cancer. The 17thAnnual International Bluegrass Music Awards, hosted by Marty Stuart, will be held on September 28 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. 'To be nominated in the same categories with these incredible artists is gratifying and humbling,' said Grascals' vocalist and guitar player Jamie Johnson. 'It also reminds us of our responsibility to share the music we love with more and more people, and to represent bluegrass to the very best of our ability.' The Grascals took home Emerging Artist of the Year and Song of the Year honors at the 2005 IBMA Awards. They will release Long List of Heartaches, the follow-up to their Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut on Rounder Records, on August 29. Featuring guest performances by George Jones, Dierks Bentley, the Jordanaires and Steve Wariner, the album was produced by the group.
