NASHVILLE, TN (CMA) - CMA Music Festival is a finalist for the International Entertainment Buyers Association 2006 LIVE! Award for Festival, Fair or Non-Tour Special Event of the Year.

"We could not be more thrilled to have been nominated by the members of the International Entertainment Buyers Association," said Tony Conway, CMA Music Festival Executive Producer and President and Co-Owner Buddy Lee Attractions. "It is a testament to the artists that donate their time to appear at our event. They perform for free so that CMA can donate money on their behalf to support music education in Metro Nashville public schools. This nomination is for them - and the 161,000 fans from around the world and every state who attended the Festival."

"This is event would not be possible without the support of the music industry and City of Nashville," said Tammy Genovese CMA Chief Operating Officer. "This nomination is something we can all be proud of. This Festival continues to grow and evolve into a world-class event and we are committed to keeping it fresh for the fans and making the experience of performing at this Festival a top-notch experience for the artists."

The Award is presented by IEBA to the Festival, Fair or Non-Special Event that utilizes artists as a major element of the event while attracting a large and diverse audience, and having displayed professional organization, management and production. Other finalists include Bonnaroo (Manchester, Tenn.); Chippewa Valley Fest (Cadott, Wis.); and Concerts in the Country (Fort Loramie, Ohio).

The LIVE! Awards will be presented Tuesday, Oct. 17 at the Hilton Suites Nashville Downtown.

The annual CMA Music Festival is unlike any other, taking place over four days and featuring more than 70 hours of musical performances, autograph signings, celebrity sports competitions, and other events with more than 400 artists and celebrities participating. The 2006 CMA Music Festival was the biggest in history with more than 161,000 attendees representing every state and 27 foreign countries.

2007 CMA Music Festival will take place Thursday through Sunday, June 7-10, in Downtown Nashville, and tickets are selling fast. The Gold Circle section is already sold out and fans are encouraged to order early for best available reserved seating.
