LOS ANGELES (CBS Tv / AFTRA) - CBS Television in association with Nosotros, the city's leading Latino theater group, and AFTRA will sponsor an acting showcase on June 12 at the Court Theatre in Los Angeles.

CBS Entertainment development executives and casting directors from the Network's primetime and daytime programs will be on hand -- and an invitation has been extended to casting directors from production companies that work with CBS.

Members of Nosotros and AFTRA (the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists) can submit applications April 1-19 to:
David Besbris, CBS Showcase Submission,
c/o AFTRA, 5757 Wilshire Blvd., 9th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

Auditions and rehearsals will follow, with the final participants selected by CBS Casting for the showcase on June 12.

'This Latino American Talent Showcase continues CBS's efforts to diversify our acting pool by giving performers of different ethnicities a chance to display their talents,' said Peter Golden, Senior Vice President, Talent and Casting, CBS Entertainment. 'It should be another exciting event.'
"I'm confident that the June 12 event will be enlightening and entertaining -- and will introduce us to a whole new group of performing artists," noted Fern Orenstein, Vice President, Casting, CBS Entertainment. "It's wonderful to discover the talented people who participate in our showcases."

"Each event in CBS's continuing outreach to our varied communities is a reminder of just how many gifted people there are who just need a chance to display their talents," said Josie Thomas, Senior Vice President, Diversity, CBS Television. "It's our goal to give everyone that chance and to properly reflect our diverse nation on the television screen."
