Vaux's 'Beyond Virtue, Beyond Vice' Unleashed Aug. 1

NEW YORK (VX Records) - The wait is over. VAUX's BEYOND VIRTUE, BEYOND VICE, originally recorded for Atlantic Records, yet never released, will finally be unleashed this Tuesday, Aug. 1 on VX Records/ Outlook Music. REVOLVER MAGAZINE rated it 5 out of 5 stars.

Straddling a musical fence somewhere between Radiohead and Motorhead, VAUX's third album is hypnotically melodic and electrically-charged. Produced by Garrett "Jacknife" Lee (U2, Snow Patrol) and mixed by Dave Sardy (Wolfmother, Marilyn Manson), the album is both brutal and beautiful, possibly the band's best work to date.

"It's been a very long time in the making and we're all very relieved it's finally happening," explains guitarist Greg Daniels. "The record was recorded in November 2004 so needless to say, we're ready for it to be available to everyone."

The band's video for lead radio track, "Are You With Me," directed by Zach Merck (Shadows Fall, Dropkick Murphys), takes a page from street artist Shepard Fairey's Obey the Giant Phenomenology project, showing groups of people plastering the streets of Los Angeles with "Are You With Me" propaganda. While fans stencil, paste, and sticker the town, VAUX rocks their tiny confines, demonstrating their uneasy urgency and inexhaustible energy. The sextet has been wowing audiences with their intense live performances all summer long on the Vans Warped Tour, where they will remain until mid-August. A fall U.S. tour will follow.
