LOS ANGELES (Carrie Underwood Official Website) - 2006 Academy of Country Music New Female Vocalist Carrie Underwood will perform the United States National Anthem prior to the 77th Major League Baseball All-Star Game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on July 11th. Underwood's performance will be aired live on FOX Sports as part of pre-game ceremonies beginning at 8:00 p.m. (EDT).

A native of Checotah, Oklahoma, the 2005 American Idol winner has sold over 3 million copies of her debut album SOME HEARTS, placed her first single 'Jesus, Take The Wheel' at No 1 for six weeks and has a current top 10 hit with new single 'Don't Forget To Remember Me.' Also among her accolades is an ACM win for Single of The Year for 'Jesus, Take The Wheel,' a Teen Choice Award, three Billboard Awards, two CMT Music Awards and a Gospel Music Association Award.

In May, Underwood graduated from Northeastern State University Magna Cum Laude with a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in journalism. She will spend this summer on tour headlining her own shows as well as opening concert dates for Kenny Chesney.

The 77th All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports and televised around the world by Major League Baseball International, with pre-game ceremonies beginning at 8:00 p.m. (EDT). ESPN Radio will provide exclusive, national radio coverage, while MLB.com will provide extensive online coverage and MLB Radio will provide exclusive play-by-play coverage of the game on the Internet. XM Satellite Radio will provide satellite radio play-by-play coverage of the XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game.
