Rascal Flatts' Me And My Gang Already Certified Double Platinum

Nashville, TN (Lyric Street Records) - Rascal Flatts' latest CD Me And My Gang has been certified double platinum by the RIAA for sales of more than 2 million units. The double platinum certification takes place only one month after its release on April 4th.

The band's new CD remains the biggest debut of the year, selling more than 721,000 units in its first week of release. Me And My Gang is the No 1 selling country title and the No 2 selling title overall year to date with over 1.4 million units scanned.

Me And My Gang held the No 1 position on Nielsen SoundScan's Top 200 chart for the three weeks following its release. Not since Shania Twain's UP!, released in 2002, has another country title remained in the top slot on the Top 200 chart for as many weeks.

In the six short years since the release of their debut album the band has scanned over 10 million units. Feels Like Today is certified quadruple platinum for sales of more than 4 million units while Rascal Flatts and Melt are each certified double platinum. Me And My Gang is the band's fastest selling title to date.
