NEW YORK (NBC.com) - Band's Album "Cuando La Sangre Galopa" Landed on the Year-End Top 10 Critic' s Lists of Major Daily Papers Including NY Newsday, Chicago Sun-Times, Dallas Morning News and Houston Chronicle

"Cuando La Sangre Galopa is a more gorgeous mixture of fluid counter-rhythm and angelic pomp that Saul Hernandez has ever hinted at before. And live, he'll stop your heart." -VILLAGE VOICE

"Cuando La Sangre Galopa is easily the band's best, a memorable roller-coaster ride of a rock record infused with crunchy guitars, brooding orchestral effects and a rough, raw edge that brings to mind the melodramatic passion of an epic poem." -LA TIMES

Grammy-nominated Mexican rock supergroup Jaguares will make their debut late night national television appearance on Friday, March 1st when they perform on Conan O'Brien. The performance serves as the perfect launch for the band' s upcoming tour, which kicks off in Detroit on March 2nd and takes the group into several new markets that have previously never been visited by a Latin alternative act, such as Raleigh, Charlotte, and Southern New Jersey.

Jaguares' forthcoming appearance on Conan O'Brien follows a milestone year that saw the group land its album "Cuando La Sangre Galopa" (when the blood races) at #1 on both the Billboard Latin & Billboard Heatseekers Charts, as well as sell out venues across the USA during its 25 city U.S. tour this past fall. Perhaps the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in Latin rock, Mexico's Jaguares were recently nominated for a Grammy Award in the 'Best Latin Rock/Alternative' category.

In a time when English-language rock acts are having trouble filling venues, the multiplatinum Latin alternative icons sold out shows last year in places like the Universal Amphitheatre (Los Angeles) and Hammerstein Ballroom (New York) with little commercial radio or video support. Even more impressive, the band ventured into new territories that seldom receive touring Latin rock acts - like Seattle, Portland, and Atlanta - for the first time and played for packed audiences.

"Cuando La Sangre Galopa" debuted last summer in the #1 positions on both the Billboard Heatseekers and Latin 50 Albums charts - the first time ever achieved by a Latin alternative act. Prior to the band's recent record-shattering #1 debut, Jaguares' 1999 double album 'Bajo El Azul De Tu Misterio' was the highest debuting alternative rock album ever on the Billboard Latin 50 Albums chart. That album has now sold more than 200,000 units in the United States and over 500,000 copies in Mexico. Jaguares' lyrics, which address both the soul and political issues, speak to a new generation of Latin American youth.
