Nashville, TN (Little Big Town Official Website) - It's been seven days of 'firsts' for Equity Music Group recording artists Little Big Town. Last week the group picked up two nominations from the Academy of Country Music Awards (Top New Duo or Vocal Group and Top Vocal Group). Earlier this week their album, The Road To Here, was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). And today they picked up a Group/Duo Video of the Year nomination for the upcoming CMT Music Awards (broadcasting live on CMT, April 10, 2006). As previously announced, the group will perform for CMT's televised Block Party in downtown Nashville preceding the awards telecast. 'The last couple of weeks have been just amazing for us,' says LBT guitarist/vocalist Jimi Westbrook. 'This nomination means so much to each of us in the band. It's the fans who vote for the CMT Music Awards and to have them acknowledge us with this nomination is really special.' Little Big Town has experienced an incredible past six months. In addition to the CMT nomination and set of nods from the ACM, the band also saw their 'Boondocks' single reach the Top 10 and achieve an RIAA Gold Certification for digital sales in excess of 100,000. The video for 'Boondocks' hit No 1 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown. Their new single, 'Bring It On Home,' is already in the Top 40 of the Country Singles Charts, and its video has cracked the CMT and GAC Top 20 countdowns. In the latter months of 2005 they opened for country superstar Keith Urban, and this Spring they have been invited to open John Mellencamp's tour.
