NASHVILLE, TN. (Broken Bow Records/ www.craigmorgan.com) - Broken Bow recording artist Craig Morgan was nominated for an Academy of Country Music Award in the category of Top New Male Vocalist it was announced by the Academy of Country Music. The ACM Awards ceremony will be held May 23rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. "This has already been such a great week. I'm in the studio working on a new album and having a blast. Then I find out I'm nominated for Top New Male Vocalist! What an honor to be recognized by the Academy of Country Music," commented Morgan. "I have had such a great career doing what I love and the support I have received from radio and the fans is so humbling. But it is a special feeling to be recognized by your peers." Morgan's current album My Kind of Livin' has stayed strong residing on the Billboard charts for an outstanding 50 weeks and spawning two number one singles "That's What I Love About Sunday" and "Redneck Yacht Club." "That's What I Love About Sunday" was the number one most played song of 2005 and number one most heard song of 2005 according to Billboard and Radio & Records magazines respectively. "Redneck Yacht Club" was recently certified gold with digital track sales of over 102,000 and also reached the top of the charts. Since his self-titled debut in 2000 Morgan has had an impressive run in such a short time. With My Kind of Livin' Morgan makes it clear the he is just warming up. An observer of the small, meaningful things in our everyday lives Morgan strives to write a song that visually paints a picture. He hinted on it with his first record, grasped it on the second and on My Kind of Livin' he finally took it home. This way of writing comes naturally to Morgan. During ten years in the military that included combat in Operation Just Cause and other deployments Morgan lived away from the things most of us take for granted. With so much time to reflect on the memories of home Morgan began to write with more emotion and an appreciation for what the little things in life meant to him.
