NASHVILLE, TN (RCA Records) - 'Yee Haw,' the fun, up-tempo debut song from new RCA Records artist Jake Owen is receiving a rousing welcome from radio stations across the country. That response, coupled with an incident that parallels another singer, could foreshadow quite a career for the young singer-songwriter.

After the Florida native debuted his new song at last week's Country Radio Seminar, Jake and the RCA promotion team hit the road meeting and performing his music for country radio stations across the country.

It was smooth sailing until yesterday when Jake realized that his wallet had been stolen while in Chicago's O'Hare Airport. This obviously caused concern on numerous levels but the immediate concern was getting on board the airplane for the next appointment. But boarding an airplane without identification is not easy these days.

So Jake and the RCA rep approached the counter with a brilliant plan, 'We'll talk our way through it,' said Jake with the dogged determination of a 24-year-old. With his cache of his own CD's and 8 X 10 photos, Jake explained the situation to the customer service manager.

'Well, we were prepared for a strip search and a heavy round of interrogation when Diane (the service manager) told us this same exact thing happened with her many years ago with another young singer,' Jake said, with bit of surprise in his voice. 'She said it was a female singer with the same problem. The singer gave her some music that day too and signed CD's for her as well. So I said, Is it anybody we know?'' To which she replied, 'Probably, you've heard of Celine Dion?'

Jake was able to board the plane and make his next visit and then returned to Nashville to spend some quality time at the Department of Transportation getting a new license. Jake is on the road again next week but to be on the safe side, the journey is by bus.
