Nashville, TN (Steve Azar Official Website) - Country music star Steve Azar has signed a joint venture deal between his label, Dang Records and Midas Records Nashville, the newly launched label staffed by hit-makers Keith Follese and Brad Allen. The surprise announcement was made Wednesday (2/15) during Midas' late night CRS bash, followed by a high-energy performance by Azar.

"Steve Azar is an artist I had always admired from afar for his great voice and songwriting ('Monday' is one of my favorite songs). When I finally had the chance to meet him, it was obvious to me that this guy is a star. We are thrilled to work with him at Midas records" says Keith Follese, Midas Records' A&R.

Says Azar, "I'm really looking forward to this partnership. Both Keith and Brad have given me the creative freedom I've always hoped for. I'm also excited about working with Bob Reeves, Midas' National Director of Promotion as I've known and respected him for many years. His ethics and integrity are unmatched. This is indeed, a very humbling and unique opportunity for me."

Steve Azar, one of country music's brightest young stars today, burst onto the country music scene in 2001 with his undeniable charisma as a performer and prolific songwriting talent. In 2001, his successful debut album for Mercury Records, Waitin' On Joe produced the No. 2 hit, "I Don't Have To Be Me ('Til Monday)" that is now approaching 3 million spins on radio, making it one of the most played songs in recent years. The follow-up single and title track "Waitin' On Joe" became a Top 20 hit, with the video featuring Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman reaching No. 1 on CMT.

Indianola is the title of the first project for Dang/Midas and is presently set for Summer 2006 release. Azar serves as producer and writer/co-writer on all fourteen tracks and he claims the music will take you on a journey back to his Delta roots. ExxonMobil will sponsor Azar's 2006 tour promoting the new CD.
