WHAT: GRAMMY Salute To Jazz An evening dedicated to paying tribute to jazz - one of the great American musical forms. The President's Merit Award will be presented to Barry Harris, Hank Jones, and Oscar Peterson for outstanding achievement and contributions to the jazz genre and the music community. In addition, there will be live performances by honorees Barry Harris and Hank Jones as well as the Gibson/Baldwin GRAMMY Jazz Ensembles.
The GRAMMY Salute To Jazz event is part of GRAMMY Week, a week-long celebration of music and the recorded arts leading up to the 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Wednesday, Feb. 8 - broadcast live from STAPLES Center on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
