UNCASVILLE, CN (Mohegan Sun) - Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that Grammy nominees Rascal Flatts have joined the roster of top-tier entertainers who have become a part of the "Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame." Their induction took place today in the forecourt of the Mohegan Sun Box Office. "It's been an incredible ride, and our fans have been a big part of it," said group member Jay DeMarcus.

Rascal Flatts have climbed to the top of their game in a very short time - in 2002, they played Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den, and are now packing the Arena. When the Grammy nominations were announced this month, the trio of Rascal Flatts found themselves hitting a high note in an already amazing year. Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney were nominated for Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for their hit "Bless The Broken Road," and the song has been nominated for both Song of the Year and Best Country Song.

The group already has a host of accolades and awards, but this is their first Grammy nomination, and lead singer Gary LeVox stated, "It is such an amazing honor ... this is the one thing we've really hoped for." Rascal Flatts' recent CD Feels Like Today was the best selling country album of 2005, generating three number-one singles (the title track, "Bless The Broken Road" and "Fast Cars and Freedom") and achieving Triple Platinum status.

Over the past nine years, Mohegan Sun has grown to become the Northeast's premier entertainment destination, and to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the company's success, Mohegan Sun has developed the "Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame." Tim McGraw was the first inductee in 2004; Rod Stewart and Alan Jackson were honored in 2005.

All individuals inducted into the "Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame" will have their name engraved in a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to the Mohegan Sun Arena. They will also receive a crystal replica to commemorate the occasion during a special induction ceremony held at Mohegan Sun.

Mohegan Sun boasts three entertainment venues: Mohegan Sun Arena, Cabaret Theatre and Wolf Den. Since it first opened in 1996, the legendary gaming and entertainment destination has hosted the best of every generation and genre - including country superstars Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw; rock icons Aerosmith and Rod Stewart; classic musicians Tony Bennett and Burt Bacharach; and legendary sold-out concert attractions Cher and Jimmy Buffett. Major sporting events, including championship boxing, college and professional basketball, tennis, billiards, bull riding and bowling, have also found a home at Mohegan Sun. In 2003, Mohegan Sun made headlines as the first non-NBA owner of a WNBA team with the acquisition of the Connecticut Sun - the 2004 and 2005 Eastern Conference Champions.

Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, is one of the largest, most distinctive and spectacular entertainment, gaming, shopping and meeting destinations in the United States. Situated on 240 acres along the Thames River in scenic southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is within easy access of New York, Boston, Hartford, Providence and located 15 minutes from the museums, antique shops and waterfront of Mystic Country. What began with the Casino of the Earth in 1996 has evolved into a legendary destination that now includes: the Casino of the Sky and over 300,000 square feet of total gaming space; The Shops at Mohegan Sun, featuring more than 60 retail shops and dining venues ranging from food court-style to gourmet; the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena for world-class sporting events and concerts, and an intimate Cabaret; and a 34-story luxury hotel, featuring 1,200 guestrooms and suites, premier meeting and convention space and a world-class spa.
